How To Double Affiliate Revenue In Only 4 Months

If you're an avid reader of IM event studies, then you've surely heard of Perrin's site, Herepup, which he offered for a little over $200,000.
He created this site in 2015 and was able to build it up within two years to create $8,280 in the last month of owning it.
However, what happened since then? Should he's sold it?
Many people build an authority site in the hopes of selling it off to get a huge payday. In the end , you can get between 20 -- 30 x the monthly earnings for your website. Herepup was sold for over $200K and that's nothing to sneeze at!
But... if you knew you could double the current earnings of your site, in just a small number of months. . Can you be so quick to market? Or, how much more would you have gotten out of the sale?
After acquiring Herepup, we raised earnings from its baseline of $6,988 per month to $14,677 after just 4 weeks.
Therefore, given the brand new monthly earnings x 25, Perrin might have become $366,925 by selling it.
But this website doesn't utilize any PBNs or other blackhat backlinking strategies, therefore it could have sold for a higher factor (x 30), which means he could have gotten up to $440,310!

How Did We Do This?

CRO?
Some new search engine optimization technique nobody has heard about (yet)?
Magic?
Nope! All we did was focus on building more quality backlinks, creating more articles and changed to a higher paying affiliate program.
All of these are things you've heard about before -- and likely overlook. In NoHatDigital, we make use of Pareto's principle -- focus on the 20% that compels 80% of the results.
However, the 1 thing we did otherwise, was implement the aforementioned strategies, at scale. We did not only get 5 links and called it a day, or put up a handful of fresh articles. We actually went to work.
Therefore, lets take a closer look.

Content

Perrin originally focused on creating keyword focused content for Herepup and we chose to continue his plan.
However, as mentioned before, we did so at scale.
Therefore, in month 2 of possessing the site, we printed 34 new articles, in month #3, we published 74 new posts and in month 4, we published 76 new articles.
Each article that has been published was 1,000 words.
When the new articles were posted on the website, they started ranking within a week or two. This happened because the site was established and rank well for the majority of its keywords.

Building Backlinks

The next thing we did was build premium quality, white hat backlinks. We chose to create infographics and market them to other pet blogs/sites. Infographics lend themselves very well to the furry niche, which has been part of the achievement of the strategy.
In month #2 of owning the website, we created 4 infographics, in month #3, 2 infographics and per month #4, 1 infographic.
After we created each infographicwe did a significant amount of outreach. This basically means finding relevant websites and requesting them to post our infographic in their website (with a link back to ours).
Within the 4 weeks, we emailed 63,988 websites!
Every website that reacted, we created a exceptional introduction to go along with the Infographic to prevent any duplicate content issues.
So, what were our outcomes?
54 links.

This might not look overtly impressive, however, those hyperlinks packed a punch. The majority of them had a domain name of over 18 and one had a DA of 33.

The Outcomes From More Content & Links

In total, we generated 184 new articles and got 54 new links over the first four weeks of possessing Herepup. The results?
The new content alone generated $1,006.33 in 3 months. This informative article was just published on the website and didn't have time to age or get higher rankings. So, the earnings in the new content will increase over the coming months.
Shifting MonetizationAs you can tell, although adding a substantial amount of links and content in the previous 4 months, resulted in adding $1,0006.33 to our revenue, it was not the immediate reason for decreasing the site's earnings.
What really moved the needle, was shifting from Amazon to Chewy.
We were able to negotiate a higher payout from Chewy which resulted in decreasing our earnings. Obviously, we didn't completely remove Amazon, but added Chewy products.
We were unsure about the move and believed it would decrease our overall clicks because more people know and trust Amazon, however, this is an unfounded fear.
As you can see in the graph below, the amount of clicks to affiliate applications dropped very slightly once some Amazon links were removed and Chewy was added in Month #2.
However, even though the clicks to affiliate products were marginally lower, earnings jumped!
From the fourth month, Chewy affiliate goods accounted for over $9000 of the total revenue and the remaining $5000 came from Amazon along with Media.net advertising.
As a consequence of the above modifications, the average visitor value increased from $0.062 to $0.114 in four weeks --a 1.8 x rise.
You might be asking yourself -- did the traffic increase significantly? Certainly, that must be the source of such an astronomic increase in revenue. However, it did not. Here are the visitors statistics:
Note that the monitoring did not work for a couple of days in November, causing the visitors to reveal as 0.
  • Pre-sale month -- 156,133
  • Pre-sale month -- 153,596
  • Month #1 -- 135,234
  • Month #2 -- 141,313
  • Month #3 -- 163,455
  • Month #4 -- 148,038
Note that month 3 was December, thus a slight increase in traffic was due to the usual Christmas rush.
Closing Ideas Within 4 months of owning Herepup, we managed to double the baseline earnings from $6,988 to $14,677, raise the customer value from $0.062 to $0.114 and raise the earnings per webpage.
So, can you do the exact same to your website? This case study demonstrates it.
All you have to concentrate on is identifying greater paying affiliate applications inside your market in addition to scaling your content and link building campaigns.
If you've got a substantial amount of traffic, don't be afraid to negotiate for higher commissions -- in case you don't request an increase, the answer will always be no.
What if you can not find a high paying affiliate program for your website? Afterward, it's worth it to produce your own item.
If you have the information that shows exactly what people want to buy, then you'd be bonkers to not make use of it! Remember, fortune favors the bold
